Our Doubts are Stronger, Wade: TWC boxscore from Bucks vs. Heat

The Bucks look like they are rolling.

There's a great clip from the Wide World of Sports with Howard Cosell from the 1960's where Muhammad Ali gets pissed at some chump he's going to fight for calling him "Clay". The guy persists in disrespecting the champ, so finally Ali just blurts out, "Mannnnn, I'm gonna punishhh youuuuu!!!!"

That's what it looked like the Bucks collectively said to the Heat at the tip last night... in their house no less!

Mannn, we gonna punishhh youuu!!

Nicely done, Bango! You needed a win like that desperately. Now the challenge is to keep things a' rockin. One and done does not get it done (to use some Ali style alliteration). Not in this man's Association.

Stars of the Game

1. Andrew Bogut (Again!)
2. Michael Redd (Welcome back, Kotter!)
3. Charlie Villanueva (Keep it goin', big fella!)

Notes

1. I wish Moute would have made the list because he deserved a "Welcome Back Kotter" award too, along with Mr. Redd ("back here where we need ya"). Both had nice return games.

2. Not to be Mr. Gloom in the middle of a decent run for the Green and Crimson (or Bucky Badger Red last night), but I'm starting to get disturbed by some slumping trends, both offensively and defensively, from the point guard spot. This is several games in a row the Sessions/Ridnour tandem has been dominated. Tonight by the exceptional (bucksdiary said he would be) rookie point guard Mario Chalmers. How the F did that guy make it to the second round when the replacement value for point guards is so high??

3. Defense, boys, that's whats getting it done for the Bucks and thats the foundation for the future. Its defense that shut Dwayne Wade down completely... total team defense.

4. That was my first look at Michael Beasley as a pro, and I see the problem. He plays power forward with a shooting guard's mentality. And, despite the fact that he has the length and strength, he does not have the bulk for the position, and I shall be wary of any prospect of that type in the future. Look at the guy's line from tonight... 13 points on only 5 of 11 shooting with one frickin rebound in 23 minutes. Michael Redd says those are secondary statistics to be embarrassed about, Beasley. Adam Morrison thinks you should try to rebound a bit more.

great game tonight!

Bogut, Charlie V and Redd were particularly awesome on offense and the whole team was excellent on defense.

does "Bucks Diary" think the Bucks should sign Skiles to a long term contract? I do.

Also, I like how Skiles is giving his key players extended minutes recently, especially Bogut.

Go Bucks!!

I think they should. I personally think he's amongst the best basketball coaches in existence. He does, however, have a certain history of wearing thin on his players. Whether that was just circumstance or ego or what I don't know, but I think the Bucks should risk it...

As for Bogut, he must ride him... although Gadzuric has picked his game up. I'm not that worried about Bogut piling up minutes though.

I've been doing a Bucks history abstract, and I have been absolutely amazed at the number of minutes Kareem Abdul Jabbar logged. The "Big Fella" as Jonny Mac refers to him routinely logged over 3300 minutes a year... that's nearly 75% of the center minutes!

Of course Kareem famously walked to the offensive end (but you try dragging Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes!... Airplane)

^^^

yep, I like Bogut getting 35-40 minutes a game as the more minutes he gets the better he plays and the better the Bucks play

hopefully the Bucks do sign Skiles to a long term deal. I LOVE what he has done to this team.
